Dave's Records' 10th Annual RSD Celebration!
Vinyl Lovers Rejoice! Your Day Has Come!
How shall we describe the wonder that is Record Store Day? The Oscars of the record world? The vinyl Olympics? Music aficionados' Garden of Eden? Here's what we know about this mystically fabulous event: Founded in 2007 as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA (and hundreds of similar stores internationally), it's the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.
It gets better: the one, the only, Dave's Records at 2604 N. Clark will once again be participating in Record Store Day on the Saturday April 22nd. You know Dave's Records, the inimitable "No CD’s. Never had ‘em. Never will" legend of a store where Dave Crain knows and lives and breathes the philosophy that there is no other alternative to the sound of vinyl records. The store's walls are lined from floor to ceiling with vinyl and chances are Dave can tell you details of each and every one.
Dave will open his doors at 10:00 am at the latest on Saturday, April 22nd; it'll be a legendary day for music lovers and record purists, you won't want to miss it, and you'll want to understand owner Dave's brilliantly simple rules (all 15+ of them...), which are posted on Dave's Blog! You'll want to check it early and often for the latest on what records will be available!
Plus, this year, from 3:00 - 4:00 pm Stonebelly will be performing an acoustic set for your RSD2017 at Dave's Records! We hope to see you there!
