About the artist: Ruth Migdal
A painter turned sculptor, Ruth Migdal received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA from the University of Illinois in 1958. By 1971, she began her exploration of the human torso and worked with clay materials until 1990, at which point she switched to bronze. For over 50 years, Migdal has served as a Professor, guest lecturer, published numerous works, sat on a variety of boards including Lincoln Park’s own Victory Garden’s Theatre from 1978-1991, and is involved with an assortment of professional societies. Migdal’s La Diva sculptural series celebrate and explore the female torso, and the eye-catching, bold red colors emphasize their larger than life scale.
This year you can find La Diva III on the north end of Clark Street in Lincoln Park!
