2016 Spooktacular Highlights!
A bit of magic filled the streets of Lincoln Park on Sunday, October 30, 2016 for the annual Clark Street in Lincoln Park Spooktacular! Clark Street and Diversey Parkway were abuzz with trick-or-treaters, magicians, stilt walkers, scarecrows, princesses, superheroes, and much more! On a beautifully comfortable afternoon Clark Street lit up with the laughs and squeals of children (and adults) dressed as ghostbusters, unicorns, dinosaurs, secret service agents, astronauts, Richards Simmons, and so much more. Plus, merchants decorated their storefronts with Scarecrows on Parade to help transform the corridor into a spooky and fun setting for trick-or-treaters, furry companions, and family fun-seekers! Even The Wiener's Circle went all out to get in the Halloween (and Cubs) spirit by decorating their whole building...
We hope you made it out to this spooky day of neighborhood fun. If not, below are photos of the amazing creatures and festivities found along the block, plus all the amazing costumes! Please also take a few minutes to share your feedback and opinions on how the day went! Not only will it help make next year's Spooktacular event even better, but it will give us a better idea of what other programming you would like to see on Clark Street. Our survey will take you less than 5 minutes to complete!
2016 Costume Contest Winners
There were a variety of costumes spotted on Clark Street this year. Everything from Spiderman, to Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta, to Pikachu, to Star Wars characters, and even a pedestrian sign! The competition for our friendly costume contest was certainly fierce with visitors and neighbors bringing their best to the table; our judges certainly had their work cut out for them. With dozens of participants and only 6 categories of winners, some tough decisions had to be made, not to mention that the originality, once again, far surpassed everyone's expectations. We're excited to announce Spooktacular’s 2016 Costume Winners!
